Statement

Painting is a means of self-discovery; the reason I'm drawn to a particular image or theme can only be revealed through the act of making. Painting is an attempt to bring order, purpose, and understanding to a myriad of thoughts, feelings, experiences, and beliefs. Like an image in murky water, each painting leads me closer, bringing it into focus, whatever it is….I don’t know and I know, it’s familiar and unfamiliar, scary and safe, all coexisting together. All these juxtapositions contribute to a painting’s mystery. After all, this constant flux of duality is the very essence of creation.
