PLEIN AIR OIL PAINTING WORKSHOP

Join award-winning artist, Casey Krawczyk, for a fun two-day plein air painting workshop in the breathtaking Berkshires. Immerse yourself in the stunning views that surround you as you learn the fundamentals of landscape painting in this inspiring and hands-on experience. Under Casey's expert guidance, you will unlock your creative potential and discover the joy of capturing the essence of the outdoors on canvas. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced artist, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to refine your skills and expand your artistic horizons.
Throughout the workshop, Casey will share valuable insights, techniques, and practical tips to help you master the art of plein air painting. Learn how to observe the landscape with a discerning eye, interpret light and shadow, and create depth and texture in your artwork. Discover how to mix colors harmoniously and capture the mood and atmosphere of the Berkshires' iconic landscapes.

Please email Casey at info@caseykrawczyk.com and make a $50 payment to reserve your spot. Class size is limited to 8 students. Payment is due in full 48 hours prior to class start date.

Materials List

  • Plein Air Easel

  • Panels (2-4 8x10 or 9x12)

  • Oil Paints:  Titanium White, Alizarin Crimson, Cadmium Red Medium, Cadmium Orange, Cadmium Yellow Light and/or Pale, Viridian, Windsor Green, Cerulean Blue, Ultramarine Blue.

  • Brushes: bristle and synthetic flats- bring a nice assortment including sizes #2 through #8. A few smaller-sized rounds.

  • Medium:  Odorless mineral spirits to keep brushes clean.

  • Palette knife

  • Paper towel roll or rags, and bags for rag disposal

  • Lunch, snacks and water

  • To protect yourself from the elements I recommend bringing a rain layer, sunscreen, hat and insect repellent.  Also, I recommend wearing long pants and close-toed shoes.
